Director of WFP Tehran Office submits credentials to FM
Director of United National World Food Program’s (WFP) Office in Tehran submitted her credentials to Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here on Sunday.
Mottaki expressed pleasure with the appointment of an Iranian woman for directing the office.
“Your success is Iran’s success indeed,” he noted.
Negar Gerami, for her part, said that she is happy with her appointment for the prost as the first Iranian lady.
She hoped that she will get the Iranian institutes’ support as before.
The World Food Program (WFP) is the food aid branch of the United Nations, and the world's largest humanitarian organization. It provides food, on average, to 90 million people per year, 58 million of whom are children.
From its headquarters in Rome and more than 80 country offices around the world, WFP works to help people who have no access to enough food.
